University of La Rioja
The University of La Rioja branched out into its own institution of university status in 1992 and has
grown steadily ever since. Its student body now consists of approximately 1500 students.
Structurally, the University is comprised of two centers; one of Human, Legal, and Social Sciences and
the other of Scientific and Technical Studies, as well as four colleges: Labor Relations, Nursing,
Social Work, and Tourism.
Program participants can attend classes with Spanish students or international students and can choose
from a wide and interesting variety of courses including: Spanish Grammar, Spanish Literature, Law, and
Enology/Winemaking, etc.
