Once Accepted...
Once you are officially accepted into an ISA Direct program you
will receive an acceptance call or email from your Admissions
officer, and will then receive an acceptance package by regular mail.
Be sure to include your email address on your application as we send
a lot of additional information via email. The forms received in your
acceptance package, as well as full payment for the program, are due
by the program due date. See below for program due dates. If you are
receiving financial aid or loans through your home university you
will be required to submit your verification of award by the program
due date, as well as a good faith payment if your university is not
releasing the funds directly to ISA. If you have not yet done so you
will need to apply for a passport immediately. You will also find
information in your acceptance package regarding applying for a
student visa, if applicable. This is a process that you will need to
start immediately, as it may take up to 60 days for any given
consulate to process your student visa application.
After the final forms and payment due date has passed you will be
mailed an Orientation Handbook for your site. At this point all of
your paperwork should be handed in to ISA. It is now that we begin
the lengthy process of assigning students to host families. You
should expect to receive your housing assignment, as well as a
description of your host family and a list of the other ISA students
on the program, approximately 1 month prior to departure.
Approximately 2-3 weeks prior to departure you will receive a final
letter that details airport pick-up times and instructions. Be sure
to reconfirm your flight and let us know if you have any last minute
changes. If you have any questions at any time you should contact ISA
either by phone or by email, and speak to either your Admissions
officer or a site specialist for your program.
