About Us...
International Studies Abroad is a study abroad provider for 11 countries and 20 different cities! ISA has
been providing study abroad programs since 1987. Our study abroad programs include cities in Argentina,
Australia, Chile, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, England, France, Italy, Mexico, Perú and Spain.
In addition to ISA standard programs, ISA is now offering students a more independent option with its
innovative, new program ISA DIRECT. We work closely with universities to provide students with a study
abroad experience that is academically challenging and culturally thorough.
Why Choose ISA Direct...
Our commitment to each student distinguishes ISA Direct among study abroad providers. We are available to
assist students, parents, and university faculty and advisors throughout the study abroad process, from
choosing the appropriate program for your level and interest, to completing the application process and
participating successfully in the study abroad experience.
While ISA Direct requires a higher level of autonomy than ISA standard programs, a number of support
services are provided before, during, and after the program. ISA Direct offers pre-departure advising
regarding the university and site, assists with course selection, organizes a host family according to
student preferences, and even helps the student determine if they are a good fit for the program.
Mission Statement
The mission of ISA Direct is to offer participants more flexibility, more opportunities to integrate with
Spanish students, and more independence to live on their own and become practicing members of the Spanish
community where their program is located. To facilitate the integration with Spanish students, ISA Direct
programs are located in interesting sites with distinguished universities where there are less ISA and
international students. In addition, ISA Direct participants will integrate more with the host university
life, as they will be largely responsible for negotiating the university system, organizing their own travels,
seeking out tutorial assistance, and initiating Spanish interactions.
